Thai flyweight Peamwilai's Olympic dream shattered by by British opponent

Flyweight Peamwilai Laopeam’s sensational campaign at the 2016 Women’s World Championships came to a bitter ending after she went down to British fighter Nicola Adams in the title bout of the 51kg class in Astana, Kazakhstan on Friday.

The sole Thai boxer to make it through the final found the Olympic champion too tough to handle as she slumped to unanimous decision. Despite falling at the final hurdle, Peamwilai was already assured of a spot at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in August after she made the quarterfinals at the tournament.
