General Prawit defends government’s record

DEPUTY Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan Friday defended the government’s progress after two years in office, saying it had never stopped working for the country and would continue trying to maintain peace and order until an election takes place.

He said people criticising the government were its opponents who had never endorsed its legitimacy. The government, he said, had been working nonstop and people could see this themselves from its televised programmes.
He said the critics should send their comments to the government instead of posting them online. Pheu Thai’s comments, he added, would be taken into consideration by the government.
Prawit said he had not yet discussed with Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha the next steps should the charter fail at the upcoming referendum.
Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Kreangam would take care of this issue, he added.
