Justice minister says followers distort legal action against Phra Dhammachayo

Justice Minister Paiboon Koomchaya Monday denounced what he described as an attempt by followers of Phra Dhammachayo, the embattled abbot of the controversial Dhammakaya Temple, to distort the legal action against him.

He said it was inaccurate to claim that the senior monk was being unfairly treated in the case he is charged with colluding in money laundering and receiving stolen items.
General Paiboon explained that the legal action resulted from the cases relating to Klong Chan Credit Union Cooperative and that the authorities were not just singling out Dhammachayo, as had been claimed by his followers.
