Missing British man found dead in Vietnam

Hanoi - Vietnamese authorities have discovered the body of a British backpacker reported missing nearly a week ago when he was on the way to climb the Fanispan, Vietnam's highest mountain, a local official said Thursday.

Aiden Webb, 22, from Norwich, fell into a mountain gorge in Hoang Lien Son National Park in Sa Pa town, Nguyen Xuan Truong, deputy chairman of Sa Pa district people's committee, told dpa.
Rescuers were waiting for police to examine the scene, he said.
The victim sent an SOS message on Saturday to his girlfriend, saying he was injured and needed help.
More than 200 people took part in the search.
