Trigger-happy vocational school students face arrests

Trigger-happy vocational school students face arrests

Bangkok’s Romklao Police is seeking arrest warrants for two vocational school students, aged 18 and 15, for conspiring to shoot and injure a rival student and an innocent food seller on Tuesday, acting city police chief Sanit Mahathaworn said yesterday. P

Sanit added that he had already called a meeting of all city police areas to formulate measures to prevent student brawls such as getting colleges to conduct searches for weapons, and also patrol risky spots before and after school. He explained that the major contributing factor is that senior students influence younger children and encourage sentiments against rival schools. This has resulted in students carrying weapons, and getting into brawls. Hence, he said, it was important to have all sides get together to help reduce this lack of trust among youths.
