Police seize sign criticising referendum

Police Monday seized a large sign in Nakhon Phanom after the sign's message was deemed a violation of the referendum law.

The sign carried a message “referendum must not be scuttled, no fraud and not become an embarrassment to Myanmar”. A picture of the sign, with 20 people, was posted on social media.
The police said all the people in the picture gave a statement that former red-shirt leader Damrongsak Putsa had hired them for Bt200 each.
All were released after questioning. Police would seek an arrest warrant for Damrongsak today on charges of violating the political ban.
