One Thai Buddhist shot dead in Narathiwat

A Thai Buddhist was shot and killed by Muslim insurgents in Narathiwat’s Takbai district at noon Monday before two police were injured in a subsequent bomb attack.

Police said insurgents opened fire at Thai Buddhists in Moo 5 village in Tambon Praiwan, killing Chawee Kaewmung at the scene. Another Buddhist, Mallika Oonpha was injured and rushed to the district hospital.
When officers from the Takbai police station rushed to inspect the crime scene, insurgents detonated a bomb and injured two officers.
