The decision followed the Cabinet's approval on July 5 of the increases in excise taxes on fuel oil by Bt0.045 to Bt0.30 per litre.
The Oil Fund's levy is accordingly cut in a range of Bt0.05-Bt0.25 per litre.
The decision means a Bt383 million decrease in the Oil Fund's monthly income. It would see the monthly outflow of Bt371 million, against monthly inflow of Bt13 million earlier.
However, the higher excise tax would generate additional Bt800 million a month to the national coffers, from Bt15.25 billion to Bt16.95 billion.
