Yaba worth Bt10 million seized

Kanchanaburi police and the Army Saturday announced the arrest of drug suspect Sakkarin “Tor Wai Niew” Saeng-arun for allegedly being in possession of almost 54,000 yaba pills with a street value of about Bt10 million.

In another drug bust in Phichit province, a combined security team arrested three men and seized 22,659 yaba pills and 2.23 grams of crystal meth or “ice”.
Kanchanaburi deputy police chief Colonel Jarin Wattanapaisan told the media that following a tip-off Sakkarin, 27, was nabbed on Friday as he drove a pickup truck to allegedly deliver the drugs.
Jarin said the drugs were smuggled from Myanmar via Sangkhla Buri district to a customer in Tha Moung district.
He said police had identified all of Sakkarin’s accomplices and would gather evidence so arrest warrants could be issued against them.
Sakkarin claimed he was asked by a friend to drive the pickup to someone in Tha Moung without knowing the drugs were inside it.
In Phichit, police, Army personnel and administrative officials Saturday announced the success of their 17-hour operation to capture three suspects including alleged major dealer Uthen Ketpradit.
Police said the drugs seized were ordered from a supplier via social media.

In related news, Pasiwat Jan-on, 33, was arrested allegedly in possession of 6.1 grams of “ice”, 14 yaba pills, a digital scale and a set of drug-taking tools at Bangkok’s Wat Khu Bon on Friday night.
Police said Pasiwat had been an ordained a monk at the temple two months ago.
