No shots fired at JFK airport in New York, says Port Authority

New York's Port Authority late Sunday said a preliminary investigation indicates no shots were fired at JFK airport Sunday evening.

Reports of shots earlier led to the evacuation of one of the passenger terminals at the New York airport.
"The preliminary investigation does not indicate shots were fired at JFK. There are no injuries. At this time, no gun shells or other evidence of shots fired has been found," the Port Authority said in a statement released on Twitter.
Hundreds of people were evacuated "out of an abundance of caution," the Port Authority added. According to media reports, Terminal 8 at JFK was evacuated. The disruption caused several arrivals and departures to be delayed, CNN reported.
Earlier in the evening, multiple calls had come in to police ofreports of shots fired at Terminal 8 of JFK Airport, according to CBSNews.
