Meechai submits amended charter draft to Constitutional Court

Meechai Ruchuphan, the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Commission, Monday sent the amended draft constitution to the Constitutional Court for final checking.
Norachit Singhaseni, a spokesman of the CDC, told a press conference at 3:20 pm that Meechai had already submitted the draft to the court.
The CDC has amended Article 272 in accordance with the additional question to allow senators to take part in the prime minister election during the five-year transitional period.
But the amended draft did not allow senators to nominate a prime minister candidate as proposed by the National Legislative Assembly, Norachit said.
