The 35-year-old from Sa Kaew, who burst into his prominence after making the country proud to win the men’s wheelchair racing 5,000m gold at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China, has already become one of the most accomplished Thai athletes with disabilities. So far, he has captured six gold medals at the Paralympic Games comprising the men’s wheelchair racing 10,000m and 5,000m at the 2000 Sydney Games, 4x100m and 4x400m relay events in Athens in 2004, 5,000m in Beijing four years later and the sixth gold just came on Sunday night in Rio de Janeiro.
