An Australian drug fugitive has been arrested on the island province of Phuket.
Robert Gordon Pollybank Gee, 58, was arrested following a combined investigation involving Thai Police and Australian Federal Police.
Gee’s fake Canadian passport identified him as Greyeyes Roy.
He was arrested at 11pm on Tuesday at a bar in Kathu district, after police found that his description matched the Australian arrest warrant.
The man reportedly admitted he fled Australia in 2011 and entered Thailand via boat without going through the Thai Immigration Police’s process. He said he bought the fake passport in 2013.
Police initially charged him with illegal entry into the Kingdom.
