187 bills enacted, 104 orders issued under junta so far

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) had 187 bills enacted during its two years administration, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam boasted Thursday.

In an announcement of the two years government achievements, Wissanu said that the junta government also invoked Article 44 to issue 104 orders to solve minor problems. Twenty-seven more bills are on the process to be passed by the National Legislative Assembly, he said.

“Those are tools we use to drive the country forward. It’s not just quantity but we have quality control,” he said.

He said four previous governments in the past seven years were able to issue only 120 bills or 17 bills a year because the political situation was not stable enough.
