Teacher hitting student’s head with cup a ‘minor offence’

The disciplinary investigation into Nakhon Ratchasima physical education teacher Paitoon Klaengkratok - who injured a 17-year-old student by throwing a melamine cup at her last month - ruled that he committed a minor disciplinary breach.

The findings have been handed to Paitoon’s boss, the director of Chokchaisamakkee School, and he will know his punishment within 15 days.
Paitoon faces being suspended or demoted or he may receive a salary cut.
Secondary Education Service Area 31 Office director Chukiat Wisessena said Friday that the three-member fact-finding committee led by Suranaree Wittaya School director Samak Waiyakhuntode believed Paitoon threw the mug at a group of students but did not intend to hit Naruedee.
Chukiat said Naruedee’s classmates told the committee that the cup hit the edge of window frame before hitting the girl’s head.
