Dengue most rampant in Mandalay

Nay Pyi Taw - More than 6,000 people were diagnosed with dengue fever across Myanmar from January to the first week of September and Mandalay topped the list with 921 reported patients, according to the Public Health Department.

Altogether 36 patients across the country have died from the disease.
An official at the department said that the disease has turned into an annual plague in recent years. The boost in tourism also encourages the disease to spread between countries and cities faster and wider. Now it is on the World Health Organisation’s watchlist.”
