Zun Than Sin crowned Miss Universe Myanmar
Zun Than Sin, a 21-year-old music graduate from Yangon’s University of Arts and Culture,was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2017 Thursday night, taking home a cash prize of 10,000,000 kyats (Bt300,000).
She looks up to Myanmar’s State Councilor and democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi as her idol, wants an end to the war within Myanmar and hopes to see peace return to her homeland.The fourth edition of the annual beauty pageant was held at the Novotel Yangon Max with a group of leading Thai journalists flown in by Thailand’s BSC cosmetics brand, one of the pageant’s sponsors, to cover the event.
“I love her very much. She’s my idol. She’s very smart and has made the best for my country,’’ she told The Nation before the 3-hour pageant started.
