Raweewan Sangchan, chief of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phang Nga Office, yesterday said all local tour guides had been informed in travel advisories to pass on the information.
Although foreigners are not required to wear black, they should wear respectful clothes and behave politely in public places.
All attractions in the province will remain open, while banks and public transport are operating normally. However all celebrations must be toned down out of respect for the late King, Raweewan said.
