Bengalis set fire to their own villages expecting international aid: Rakhine State Govt

The Rakhine State Government stated, investigations prove that a fire that broke out in Bengalis’ Ngakhura Village on October 30 evening was set by Bengalis themselves with intent to receive international aid and make international headlines.

Min Aung, the Spokesperson of the Rakhine Stahte Government, said: “We’ve investigated that market stalls in Ngakhura Village were burnt by the owner himself. They want to be labeled themselves as refugees. Police are trying to arrest the committed person now.”

The Border Guard Police led by Police Col. Kyaw Tayzar inspected the fire-destroyed area finding market stall owned by Nuru Dein (40 years old Bengali) – son of D Mar Mauk was burnt down. Witnessing that no Bengali villager tried to extinguish the fire, however the BGP forces, Hindu villagers and Rakhine villagers coordinately put out the fire.

A total of six market stalls destroyed in the fire were owned by two Bengalis – Nuru Dein and Adu Salin.

Investigation shows Nuru Dein set fire for the purpose of receiving international aid under the title of refugees; spreading propaganda in international media that the BGP set the fire; and then spread the fire to nearby villages where Hindu people live. The committed person is absconding now.

The BGP filed a lawsuit against Nuru Dein under Penal Code Section 436.
