Security at US embassy, other related sites boosted

Police have stepped up security at the United States Embassy and other significant sites after protests were held against the results of the US presidential election.

Police spokesman Pol General Dejnarong Sutthicharnbancha said Thursday that though no such protests have taken place in Thailand, the police did not wish to take a risk.
“We are closely following the developments and intelligence updates. Police are taking care of not just the US Embassy, but also other places of importance. We are also keeping an eye on US citizens entering or living in Thailand,” he said.
