The ministry reported Wednesday that the Consumer Price Index in December had increased 1.13 per cent year on year – the highest level in 25 months – while rising 0.13 per cent compared with the previous month.
The year-on-year increase was due mainly to the price of oil being 12.21 per cent higher than in December 2015, as well as price rises for some foods.
