Nobel laureate on economics Maskin to give lecture in Bangkok Monday

Professor Eric S Maskin, the Nobel laureate on economics in 2007, will give a lecture on the global economy at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok on Monday, the organiser said.

Maskin will give a lecture on the topic of “Why global markets have failed to reduce inequality” from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The event is organised by BRIDGES, Thammasat University and International Peace Foundation.
Maskin was awarded the Noble Prize for Economics in 2007 “for having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory”. He taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was the Albert O. Hirschman Professor of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study and a visiting lecturer at Princeton University before becoming the Adams University Professor at Harvadrd.
