Meechai says still possible for election to take place this year

Chief charter drafter Meechai Ruchupan Monday said he has assessed and believes it is possible for the next general election to be held late this year or early next year.
Though Meechai said the road map depends on coup maker chief and Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha’s, he believed the revision of the organic laws would not take so long that it substantially hold off an election to mid year next year.
Authorities of the coup-installed agencies have laid out the possibility that an election promised this year might come later than expected, citing the complication in the legislation and revision of organic laws.
