Auctions of debtors’ properties raise Bt30 bn

The Legal Execution Department has raised almost Bt30 billion through the public auction of debtors’ properties in the first quarter of the 2017 financial year between October and December. Pathum Thani ranked first with Bt1.6 billion of assets sold, followed by Samut Prakan’s Bt1.5 billion and Nakhon Pathom’s 1.3 billion.

Department chief Ruenwadee Suwanmongkol said yesterday that the agency aimed to boost the value of total sales by 30 per cent in the second quarter.
During the first quarter, the agency also successfully arbitrated 2,800 disputed cases out of the assigned 3,205 cases, involving Bt1 billion in assets, she added.
Ruenwadee said three arbitration sessions to aid flood-affected debtors would be held in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla and Surat Thani.
