EXPORT VALUE last year increased for the first time in four years, by 0.45 per cent to US$215.32 billion (Bt7.54 trillion), thanks mainly to rising global oil prices and strong economic growth in many countries, the Commerce Ministry reported.
At the same time, import value last year contracted by 3.94 per cent to $194.66 billion, and as a result Thailand was locked into its highest trade surplus ever at $20.65 billion.
