Officers seized a large amount of goods and undocumented imported items, the total value of which was being calculated as of press time.
The raid locations were PS Sport Cargo Co’s warehouse in Soi Chaeng Wattana 1 Yaek 6 in Lak Si district; Sun Water Rich Power Service Co’s office in Soi Mubaan Tawanchai in Nong Khaem district; a rented office at the S Group Building’s 6th floor in Ratchathewee district; and another warehouse in Ratchaburana district.
DSI deputy chief Pol Major Suriya Singhakamon led the raid at the Lak Si site, where alleged counterfeit goods were being stored. He said the DSI had been monitoring two companies’ activities until they obtained credible information that they were part of Thailand’s largest network for smuggling pirate goods into the country.
The companies then allegedly sold the goods to retailers, investors and Bangkok shops, as well as trade hubs for pirated goods including Sampheng, Bo Be, Pratunam and Rong Kleu markets.
Suriya said the distributors had violated the Intellectual Property Law, the Customs Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, which justified the DSI continuing the investigation and arresting those involved.
