Troops deployed to guard Government House

Some soldiers were seen guarding around the Government House compound on Tuesday, when the Cabinet was set to reconsider a fate of a coal-fired power plant in Krabi.

The soldiers, saying they were from the first infantry battalion, would not tell why they were ordered to guard the compound, but an informed source said that local protesters from Krabi may travel to the Government House again to pressure the Cabinet to make decision against the controversial project.

Dusit Police Station, who is responsible for a district the Government House is located, also prepared two companies of policemen to handle with a possible rally by opponents of the project.
