Sansern said Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha and the government would like to express condolences over the loss of life that should not have happened.
Sansern said the authorities had tried their best to try to avert the loss.
Sansern said both laymen and monks, who are supporters of the temple, should not let such an incident happen again.
“They should not abuse innocent people’s faith and belief to protect a few persons who committed wrongdoing,” Sansern said.
“Then, they denied that the man was among their followers.”
The spokesman said the temple and its followers should not blame the death on the enforcement of Article 44 of the interim charter to besiege the temple. He said the article needed to be invoked because those who committed wrongdoing would not come out to face the justice.
