It follows the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) head last week claiming the seven members properly submitted leave forms.
An active member of civil society, Srisuwan Janya, said on Sunday that he planned to file the petition with the National Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday because he doubted the legitimacy of the leave forms.
Srisuwan called for an in-depth investigation into the details of the matter, such as the attendance records of NLA meetings, members signing their names prior to the meetings, and whether the leave forms were endorsed by NLA president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai.
Last week, Srisuwan filed a petition against the legislators for allegedly being absent from too many meetings.
“Why is the NLA president not irritated at all by the fact those members were absent so many times?” he said. “Their monthly salary of more than Bt100,000 is directly related to people’s tax payments.”
He also planned to file a petition against Pornpetch, whom he alleged had corruptly neglected his duties, and Wararat Atibaedya, former secretary-general of the Senate and now serving on the NLA.
He doubted that Wararat might not have issued letters to the absent members despite the NLA regulations requiring she do so.
