Kingdom’s tax collection better than expected

Thailand’s net revenue collection totalled Bt724 billion for first four months of this fiscal year ending January – about 2.2 per cent higher than the estimate, said Krisda Chinavicharana, director-general for the Fiscal Policy Office.

Krisda said other agencies’ revenue and state enterprises’ revenue contributions were 25.1 and 21.8 per cent higher than estimated. Tax collection that was higher than expected include oil tax, corporate income tax and beer tax.
“The government’s revenue collection still came higher than targeted for the first four months of this fiscal year, driven by other agenies’ revenue collection and state enterprises’ revenue contribution. For the rest of the fiscal year, Ministry of Finance will follow up the revenue collection to be as targeted,” he said.
However, the revenue collection was 2.7 per cent lower than the same period in the last fiscal year.
