On Monday, some 39 experts met with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for the first time as they were appointed to serve in the Por Yor Por. Suvit said that the PM would like to gather opinions from the experts on the future of the country regarding the driving of the national strategy, reform, and reconciliation building.
Suvit said that the PM would also thank as well as discuss the background and the aim of the supercommittee with the experts. The three tasks of the supercommittee would be driven this year in order to pass it to the next government next year, he said.
In the next two weeks, the secretaries of the four subcommittees would convene to report the progress of their affiliation, Suvit said. The meeting of the supercommittee would take place in April 20, he added.
Meanwhile, PM Prayut, creator of the new reform and reconciliation scheme, thanked the 39 experts to sit in the committees for making the sacrifice to help drive the country forward.
He said he hope the country would be strong, prosperous, and sustainable in line with his vision that have been set out. The year 2017 was the year of reform, he said, although the process had been kicked start since 2014 when he came to power.
