Veteran journalist Yuwadee passes away

Veteran journalist Yuwadee Tunyasiri, who has been covering political news at the Government House for over 40 years, passed away Friday morning, Thai Rath reported. She was 71 years old.

Thai Rath said its reporters were  informed by the family of Yuwadee that she passed away peacefully at 3:30 am at the Phramongkutklao Hospital.
A bathing rite will be held at the Soamanas Temple on Saturday.
A journalist for four decades, the respected reporter covered the Government House beat until recently. Yuwadee is known to be outspoken in her dealings with authorities. In 2005, she spoke up over the alleged sexual harassment of a young female journalist by a high-ranking officer. She also got into numerous arguments with Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Yuwadee retired from the Bangkok Post but continued to visit Government House every day until last November when authorities started enforcing a rule prohibiting reporters without affiliation from entering the compound.
