Corporate giants Qualcomm and AIS team up
Qualcomm and Advanced Info Service (AIS) will announce at a press conference on Monday a new collaboration between the two companies.
The partnership between US-based Qualcomm, one of the world’s leading mobile chipsets manufacturers, and AIS, Thailand’s leading mobile operator and digital service provider, will involve them spearheading the Thai telecommunications industry towards 5G, the companies said.
They said the partnership would result in the most advanced network innovation and the fastest connectivity as they “lead the way in LTE-advanced technology in Southeast Asia”.
At the press conference, Qualcomm will also discuss its strategy on accelerating LTE-advanced technology adoption in the Thai market, the consumer benefits of enhanced networks and insights on the overall telecom industry.
AIS will share its plan and “continuous commitment” to maximising the performance of its network across Thailand to bring the “best connection speeds and capacity to consumers”.
