Rung Hiranwong, chief of the Doi Inthanon National Park, said the minimum temperature at the Kiew Mae Pan viewpoint at the park was seven degrees while it dropped to nine degrees at the top of the mountain.
Rung said 1,240 tourists visited the park on Monday.
The weather news was not so good elsewhere in the North, with the Meteorological Department predicting temperatures at Chiang Mai and other northern provinces would reach as high as 40 degrees on Tuesday.
The department said the northeast and central regions would also experience temperatures as high as 40 degrees on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s maximum in Bangkok was forecast to hit 39.
