Bangkok and elsewhere hit by heavy rain

Bangkok city and its surrounds and many other provinces were hit by heavy rain on Friday.
Flooding conditions at various parts of the capital including Pattanakarn caused traffic snarls.
Thai Meteorological Department chief Wanchai Sakudomchai issued a thunderstorm warning for upper Thailand.
In a statement, he said thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail were forecast for Friday and Saturday in the North and Northeast as well as the Central and Eastern regions.
On Sunday and Monday, predicted thunderstorms over the North and Central region are expected to weaken.
People in those areas were warned to stay indoors during storms.
