Suthep backs Prayut over delayed election

Former leaders of the now-defunct People’s Democratic Reform Committee are unfazed by the delay in holding the national election and offered their full support to junta head General Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The ex-leaders continue to believe reform must be carried out before the election is held and are willing to be ruled by the military-installed regime provided it carries out reform, said its former top figure Suthep Thaugsuban on Friday after a four-hour reconciliation meeting at the Defence Ministry.
He said the public must continue supporting the regime and trust that it will complete the reform process.
