ISOC spokesman Colonel Peerawatch Sangthong said on Wednesday the extension was meant to ensure that opinions from all groups in the provinces were heard.
The move followed concerns that the process was not inclusive in some areas such as in Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Kanchanaburi provinces.
Peerawatch also said the ISOC had already initiated gathering opinions in all 76 provinces, adding that people had welcomed the move and submitted their opinions to contribute to reconciliation efforts in a friendly and orderly manner.
The information will be submitted to Armed Forces supreme commander General Surapong Suwana-at, who is the head of the committee that will process the opinions, he said.
After conclusions are reached by another committee headed by Army chief General Chalermchai Sitthisart, they will be released to the public, Peerawatch said.
