Surapong, a leader of the Pheu Thai Party, said the country was suffering from the economic slowdown, causing the poor to be unable to make ends meet and causing debt to increase.
He said the sluggish economy was reflected through repeated calls by former MPs from both the Pheu Thai and the Democrat Party for the prime minister to overhaul his economic team.
Prayut on Wednesday denied that he planned to reshuffle his economic ministers in the near future.
