Hot-air balloon festival soars in Hat Yai

Fancy hot-air balloons from 13 countries were released into the sky in Songkhla's Hat Yai district to kick off the third annual “Amazing Balloon Festival at Hat Yai 2017” on Friday.
The event, which will last until Sunday, is hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Hat Yai City Municipality.
Visitors can admire 19 huge multi-coloured balloons from 13 countries, including Japan, Belgium, and the United States, that are on display at Jiranakorn Stadium. They can also enjoy various entertainment performances and a food festival.
The event is expected to draw more than 100,000 people and generate more than Bt100 million in revenue.
