A 40-year-old woman was struck and killed by a bus in Kanchanaburi on Friday morning after leaping onto a highway in front of the hospital where she was being treated for tuberculosis.

Police said the woman jumped onto the road from the pedestrian bridge in front of Phahol Phayuhasena Hospital in Mueang district at about 7am and was struck by the Kanchanburi-Bangkok bus.
The woman’s hospital ID tag identified her as Kanchana In-duom, a resident of Kanchanaburi’s Saiyok district.
Friends told police she’d worked a motorcycle-taxi driver in Bangkok’s Bang Na district but had returned home after contracting tuberculosis.
