Police were alerted to the death of Prasert Jina-on, 46, at 6.10am on Wednesday.
His two daughters told police that their father left home Monday morning and did not return.
The family searched for him in his orchard and found that he had hanged himself to a durian tree.
His neighbours told police that Prasert had complained that he borrowed money from the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives to invest in his durian orchard but the storm damaged his crop and he was unable to repay the debt.
