Thai women who left group tour in South Korea located

Two women from Udon Thani who fled a group tour in South Korea have been located, their guide said.

The tour guide, Phurirat Thitijaruwat, 39, said he has been informed by a legal officer of the Udon Thani Employment Office that the two women were located in Gwangju in the southern part of South Korea.
The Udon Thani Employment Office searched for the two women at the order of the Udon Thani governor after Phurirat posted on his Facebook wall that he faced a life ban in South Korea after Yupin Janthasen and Chutima Reungpatarawet disappeared from their hotel.
Phurirat said the two were initially denied an entry visa and were about to be sent back to Thailand but he felt sorry for them and guaranteed with the South Korean immigration officers that they would not go into hiding to work in the country illegally.
Phurirart said he would face an entry ban for life if the two fail to exit South Korea within 90 days.
His post went viral, prompting the governor to take action.
Phurirat said he was informed by the legal officer that the two were located on Sunday night.
The two admitted that they planned to work illegally in South Korea after seeing their friends work there with high pay.
Phurirat added that the two women said they did not have money to buy plane tickets so his tour firm would pay for their tickets so that the tour firm and guide would not be blacklisted by South Korea.
