Wat Phrathat Phanom in Nakhon Phanom, a popular destination for both worshipers and tourists, was completely inundated on Thursday morning following a heavy downpour overnight.

The water level was 20 to 30 centimetres throughout the compound of the temple in That Phanom district.
Visitors arriving early to pay respects at the revered Phrathat Phanom stupa, believed to hold a sacred relic, were severely hampered in their movements, as were the vendors catering to them.
Tambon That Phanom Mayor Kachornsak Nidchin instructed officials to install water pumps and the floodwater was drained off by 11am.
