NBTC raises Bt29 million auctioning 32 special phone numbers
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission raised Bt28.84 million from auctioning 32 phone numbers with the last seven and the last six digits the same number.
Korkij Danchaiwichit, deputy secretary general of the NBTC, said the auction of special phone numbers was held for the third time on Sunday, with 168 offered numbers.
He said 095-999-9999 fetched the highest amount - Bt4.8 million - followed by 095-666-6666 and 096-000-0000 - Bt3 million each.
Then there was 092-899-9999, which cost Bt1.04 million.
Korkij said 094-455-5555 received the most bids - 59 - and cost Bt1.3 million.
He said 15 bidders took part in the auction.
In the first auction of 16 numbers with nine digits the same number and eight digits the same number, the NBTC raised Bt62.02 million from selling nine numbers.
In the second auction of phone numbers with seven and six digits the same number, the NBTC raised Bt104.62 million from selling 76 numbers.
