A fire swept through three dozen derelict houses being used as temporary refugee shelters in Mae Hong Son late Wednesday night.

Police said no one was injured in the Mueang district fire that began at 10.45pm.
They said the fire spread quickly through the bamboo huts with roofs of grass and dried banana leaves.
District chief Pisit Kijboon-anan said about 200 refugees lived in the homes.
Mae Hong Son Governor Suebsak Iamwichan and members of the local Red Cross visited them on Thursday morning to distribute daily essentials.
