Rangsit University unveils campus cops

Rangsit University now has the country’s first squad of “campus police” to protect students, faculty, staff and visitors at its Pathum Thani campus.
University president Arthit Ourairat presided at a ceremony on Wednesday inducting the officers, who will patrol the area on motorcycles and in trucks around the clock, guarding against crimes such as theft, robbery and brawling.
Regular police from Pak Klong Rangsit precinct will join the campus cops in setting up checkpoints and conducting patrols around the Muang-Ake Housing Estate where the university is located.
