Sadid Khunrit, 29, registered with the authorities as a resident of Ranong, was arrested at a rented house in Tambon Patong in Phuket’s Kathu district on Monday evening.
The arrest was made hours after the KMIT Construction filed a complaint with police that a man had sneaked into its construction site on Kamala-Patong road at 11.15pm on Sunday and made off with Bt115,010 worth of construction tools.
Police checked CCTV footage, were able to see the man’s face and tracked him to the rented house.
The man admitted that he had earlier stolen from two other construction sites in Tambon Kamala, one in Tambon Choeng Thalay, one in Tambon Koh Kaew and another in Tambon Kathu, police said on Tuesday.
He told police that some of the stolen goods had been sold, while the rest were kept at his rented house.
Police found a total of 156 stolen tools at his home, including several Bosch electric drills and SOLO tile-cutting machines.
