Villagers cite accidents, demand roadwork end

Residents of Phang Nga’s Takua Pa district Thursday called on the government to speed up construction of a 363-metre-long road after the delayed, on-going construction caused a series of accidents.

They complained that the on-going construction of the Takua Pa-Bang Sak road caused the section of the road to be dangerous, leading to several accidents. Lights have not been installed on the section and this has contributed to accidents, they say.
The Bt14.98 million roadwork began November 4, 2016 and was supposed to finish by April 2, 2017.
Villager Krit Jindapol said the on-going construction has caused severe trouble for local residents. Krit said his mother was recently hit by a vehicle and suffered a broken leg. The vehicle managed to flee the scene because the road was very dark.
