Mundipharma to acquire rights to Tapenta in Japan

Mundipharma announced on Thursday that it has entered into an agreement with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc to acquire rights to the extended release cancer pain treatment Tapenta tablet in 25mg, 50mg, 100mg doses in Japan. The generic name is Tapentadol Hydrochloride.
Tapenta is indicated for relief of moderate to severe pain associated with cancer. It has been available in Japan from August 2014.
The tablet is approved by more than 40 countries and is approved as tamper-resistant in Japan.
