Garage blaze scare for family

The owner, 58-year-old Songpon Chaosomchart, was watching TV when his two nieces, who were playing nearby, heard bangs resembling an explosion and called out to him.
Songpon ran over and saw black smoke billowing out of the storage area of his garage.
He managed to drive two cars clear but could not save his motorbike.
Firefighters brought the flames under control and prevented adjacent properties being damaged. Initial inquiries suggested the blaze was caused by a short circuit in an electrical appliance.
No one was hurt but damage was estimated at 400,000 baht.
